Changin torrent's location - Editing resume.dat

How do you do that?

I reinstalled windows and some locations have changed. So I though I'd go in to resume.dat and edit the location to their proper paths now. But it doesn't work! Why?

Editing resume.dat makes uT use .old, editing that too makes everything disappear!

How do I fix that without doing everything manually????

why do it the hard way when you can do it the easy way?

just run uT, then go to the menu, and edit the settings.

save, and you are done

exit utorrent

move all your files back,

run uT

and everything will resume as if nothing has happened

You edited resume.dat wrong. Bencoding isn't for the novice, that's why Ultima made the BFE.

Says it cant decode resume.dat

Anyway, I'm still tinkering around with it. But I'm also moving my torrents the old fashioned way.

You need to load up the .old, .bad will not load due to problems with conversions. This is why you should always make a backup prior to editing
