Cryptic Subject heh..

Anyway need some help with port forwarding! yes i know not another one..Anyway my problem is this:

Netcomm NB5plus4w. Port forwarding works ok port number i am forwarding is 56881. I have double checked this with Netcomm and they say the port is open. I have checked the port on shields up and it says the port is stealthed. According to Netcomm the reason the port is stealthed is because Utorrent is not replying to the packet sent (ICMP I think) is this correct? As long as the port is coming up stealthed i will never get that elusive green tick.

I have switched both router and software firewalls off, so NO firewall active on my PC or router. I have a static IP on pc 192.168.1.4. I have set U torrent to listen to port 56881. I have disabled UPnP (This never works anyway).

I hav also run through almost all the great utorrent help sites out there i have also run through the portforward guides.

Please help meeeee.

I use http://www.canyouseeme.org and http://www.utorrent.com/testport.php?port=YOURPORTNUMBER and https://www.grc.com/x/portprobe=YOURPORTNUMBER to test open ports. The rules you use should apply to the port you select in the Preferences or Speed Guide (Ctrl-G). If it doesn't match, that explains it. Routers by their very nature are firewalls. Using DMZ does not work. Make sure the rule in the router applies to (something along the lines of) router INBOUND traffic on port 56881 to OUTBOUND traffic on PORT 56881 to LAN IP 192.168.1.4

Thanks for the links will try..

I have created a port forward rule on router that forwards all TCP/UDP to IP address of PC through range 56881 -> 56881 mapped port is 56881. The NB5Plus does not stipulate inbound or outbound. it just has port range from and to and the port to be mapped. Straight out of the portforward.com.au web site.

Netcomm states that the port is open. But i get no reply timed out on most port open test. Shields up was the only that stated the port was stealthed.

Is there a setting on Utorrent that might be hiding that port from the outside?
