TammyMae Posted February 13, 2008 Report Posted February 13, 2008 I must admit this is my first time using and learning about torrents, and so this is my first with using 1.7.7. My uTorrent was downloaded just fine till it reached 98.3 %. I was watching the ETA and it was coming on down to 2 min remaining. Then the ETA went back up the minutes and then to hours, days, 1 week and then the infinity sign. I have read that if ETA displays the infinity sign it usually means downloading is done...at least if I read this correctly. However, the download is not completed. I am not sure on exactly what happened or if this is even normal at times. I appreciate any help since again I have limited knowledge of using the torrent systems.
DreadWingKnight Posted February 13, 2008 Report Posted February 13, 2008 What is the torrent's availability?
TammyMae Posted February 13, 2008 Author Report Posted February 13, 2008 If I am looking at this right with what you are saying, it says: .982 which I have no clue what that means. I do seriously have to study up on this stuff.
DreadWingKnight Posted February 13, 2008 Report Posted February 13, 2008 Availability less than 1.0 means you can't complete.
Switeck Posted February 13, 2008 Report Posted February 13, 2008 .982 = only 98.2% of the total torrent available, even counting what you already have.It counts only completed pieces, which is why you have 0.1% more than that. That torrent won't finish without a seed rejoining it.You have no control over whether a seed rejoins. ...But if DHT and peer exchange CAN be enabled on that torrent, you could try them.
TammyMae Posted February 13, 2008 Author Report Posted February 13, 2008 Okay, but why? What is wrong? Do I lose out on this entire download? Is there anything that I could do to fix it or do I just wait around till it can become better available? Thanks.::EDIT:: Ah thanks! That is sad news. I will see what I can do from here with the torrent.
Perfectionist Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 You could look for a torrentz search engine which finds a list of trackers, then you add them trackers onto your torrent by:Right clicking the torrentChoose PropertiesAdd Trackers (as it says seperate each tracker with a space in each line)All you have to do is make sure the title name is exact same or, the files within it - e.g thistrnt-agz.rarObviously add only the trackers that contain seeders (uploaders that have 100%)p.s - your names familiar - hope your not my ex
