jewelisheaven
What's the Tracker Status say under the General tab? Can you access internet pages while the downloads don't happen in uT If you switch to the Speed tab and scale back to 5 or 30 seconds, was the up/download speeds gradually decline? twiggs396
hi i can access internet pages fine, and it still shows that i am connected to 30 or so seeds
jewelisheaven
What is the tracker status.. that elucidates the obvious problem. What the cause is can be tricky though... If you go to Ctrl-P -> BitTorrent, try switching the protocol encryption to Forced and disallow legacy connections... Do the peers stay connected then? How long after starting uT do the peers disconnect? Does it happen each time you start uT after this certain time... or was this only the first time happening?? twiggs396
hi it has happened before stay this way for a few hours and then it sorts itself out they are healthy again now so i will have to look at tthe tracker status when they are heathly again i dont know why the max i get is 105kb/s im on a 8mb line and iam using popular seeds like seeds 50(3363) ?? jewelisheaven
If it's intermittent :/ Then it sounds like your ISP is mucking with your connection. ~ 100 KiBps is 1 Mbit, which means you are shaped as it is... Have you trid 1.8 from the Announcements forum?? I'd use it self-encapsulated to just test so you don't mess with your current working (for the most part) settings. twiggs396
hi its doing it gain and the tracker status says: offline (timed out) butt they do still download slowly. ??
jewelisheaven
Downloading happens durint he times when you can't access the tracker because your ip:port have already been given out to people and you already have people you can connect to. jewelisheaven
Once you successfully connect to the tracker ONCE (or use DHT)... you have peers in your list.ALSO once you announce once, OTHER PEERS have your information so they can connect to you. (Use the bittorrent primer - Guides page link #2)
twiggs396
hi i couldnt see anything about bitorrent primer on the second link down in the guides section
jewelisheaven
Err.. Click Guides, click the second link... it's what I call a "primer" because it gets you acquainted with bittorrent and the process of torrenting if you're new. If you have specific technical questions btfaq.com is another good resource. But to go back to your original problem... the trackers go red I think because your ISP enforces some sort of "limit"... check to see if the offline errors happen at the same time every day. That will help you work around the block, i.e. making sure you announce to the tracker just prior so you will have at least a newer peerlist, or peerlist subset from the tracker. REMEMBER even if you can't connect to the tracker peers YOU KNOW about will still connect, and OTHERS who know about YOU will try to connect to you
