coldplay
hi,my transfer speed is about 200KBps down and 30KBps up,it seems writing cache should be much greater than reading one,but what i find in the disk statistics is that close to 90MB RAM was given to reading and on the other side only 10MB was in using for writing job(i set the total amout to 100MB and the figure i find in read statistics was something like 89.1MB of 90MB and writing for 11.2MB of 100MB,i don't know what it means very clearly)so is it just common or there is something wrong in my manual setting or anything else?thanks for help. jewelisheaven
The Cache allocates as needed. Sure the Disk Statistics show a bit more than proportional usage (30/(200+30) is closer to 12.5%) but it's using the RAM you told it to
Switeck
uTorrent only needs to write a complete block out once, so once it does it removes that block from the write cache...possibly adding it to the read cache.Ironically, a lower download speed may increase the used write cache size...as unfinished 1-4 MB pieces may be held in the write cache till done.
