Hello,

Since I can't find the problem in another topic and that I read the FAQ, I'm trying here, hoping that someone have a clue...

I have an xp sp2 with all updates,

Intel C2D E6600,

MB gigabyte 965P DS3P

DDR2 PC 6400 Gskill 1Go

driver's latest version,

running AVG ,

utorrent 1.7.7,

When I start utorrent, first the checking of the partial files downloaded is very slow, but the destination drive for my download is not fragmented (i checked..)

and CPU is overloading at 50% : that's the core0 overloaded.

with sysinternals process explorer i noticed that the 50% are taken by hardware interrupts... ???

when the checking of all torrent is ok it downloads normally and then sometimes after a time the computer freezes and the sound is blocked, then the system restarts with not showing a blue screen.

Using itunes and utorrent causes pop clicks and noise since a while..

I don't know if i am very clear... (sorry English is not my language)

Thanks for your help and ask whatever you want, i will try anything cause i don't wanna change my torrent client !

Thank you for the information and logfiles :D

As far as iTunes and uT... that sounds like a bus thing... meaning something isn't fast enough or there's other problems outside uT and iTunes causing them to not play nice together.

As far as the checking.. since you've got process explorer check out disk io throughput (double click utorrent.exe while checking to see that)...Also if you could, edit the procexp.exe list above by making a new log as follows (Ctrl-L, Ctrl-D, click utorrent.exe, Ctrl-A) so it shows what is injected in to uT.:) I don't know what some of your processes are so forgive me... I see this dsp24set which i'm assuming works with opwarese4?

Also this O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [DigidesignMMERefresh] C:\Program Files\Digidesign\Drivers\MMERefresh.exe what does it do? btw, bonne soir :D

Bonjour !

Well the two process you are asking for are my sound cards :

Dsp24 is for everything and digidisign is for protools.

I've done more test and when I try to copy file from my torrent HD to another it takes longer than from any other HD.

With sisoft sandra i found no difference between my HD...

I hav

WD raptor 36Go for windows system

Wd raptor 36 Go for work and audiofiles

Seagate1 500Go for data (mp3 and torrent download folder)

Seagate2 500Go for other data

What can i do to make segate1 work properly ?

:/ It sounds like it's not in (U)DMA mode. Have you checked your Device Manager (from System Properties) to check the hard drive controller. If it says "current transfer mode" is PIO, that is bad :( It should be UDMA... mine right now (all 6) show as UDMA6 1.5Gbps (SATA I Controller limitations).

When you were copying, were you using Process Explorer to see throughput... The thing about benchmark tools and testers, it's just a test. Checking with real data and a situation (say copying a 4 GiB file through explorer) compared to hashing that same 4 GiB file in uT... help you see different possible problems.

I too am having a slow checking issue as well as a checking every time I close and reopen UTorrent. I have searched the forum and found one possible fix for checking (enable bt.graceful shutdown). I changed to true but there is an asterisk there also. Still checking and very slow although I have not shutdown since changing the graceful shutdown. I have been using UTorrent for over a year and have never had this issue checking evry time shutdown until recently although checking when it did occur has always been slow. Any help will be received with grattitude.
