stretch33
Hi,Something weird happened today, lost connection and contacted my ISP Virgin Media in the uk and spoke to a helpdesk assistant. Just very suspect that had to give all account details and IP and MAC addresses and in the end no problems with the connection. Have been a utorrent user for a while and am sure there is a crack on torrents P2P in the UK now.Just a warning, may be just be a little paranoid but gut feelings are normally the right ones, haven't ever used any blocking security for myself so any help would be much appreciated. Ultima
I wouldn't be too surprised if they were indeed shaping BitTorrent traffic. I remember seeing that ISP's name being tossed around with regards to throttling before :/You can always try µTorrent 1.8 alpha (in the Announcements forum) to see if it helps. Switeck
Bad settings in uTorrent, especially when combined with often-unreliable networking software and hardware can crash uTorrent, the internet connection, or even the whole computer.Yours is only getting the internet connection by the sound of it.So...what crazy settings were you trying to use and just how fast is your connection both down and up?
