Fafnr Posted February 22, 2008 Report Posted February 22, 2008 Hello all,I recently had to reinstall Windows, and now uTorrent can't find my semi-downloaded files, even though I point the incomplete / complete directories at the right place... :/What am I doing wrong?Regards,Fafnr
jewelisheaven Posted February 22, 2008 Report Posted February 22, 2008 Uhm, how many torrents are we talking? In a stopped state, right click, advanced, set download location. Be sure the right FILE/FOLDER is selected by clicking it. If uT shows 0% donwloading, you need to try again.

Fafnr Posted February 22, 2008 Author Report Posted February 22, 2008 Thanks for you quick replies, jewelisheaven: I don't have the torrents. Only the partial files.I'd really prefer to not start over, but if I have to, I guess I will have to.DreadWingKnight: Thanks, but unfortunately, the guide doesn't mention what to do in the case where you don't have the torrent anymore. (I don't think uTorrent saves them by default?)Regards,Fafnr
jewelisheaven Posted February 22, 2008 Report Posted February 22, 2008 If you didn't http://xrl.us/BackupSettings then yeah. DWKnight, I don't think anything is in there unless Fafnir chose to "repair" the install instead of format-reinstall windows This brings up a good point. Be sure to backup stuff you'll want AFTER a format BEFORE you format :/
Fafnr Posted February 22, 2008 Author Report Posted February 22, 2008 ... which I don't have as I formatted and reinstalled windows.I didn't know it did it by itself, and so I didn't know to save them. They're not part of my normal backup-routine.So, there's no way?
jewelisheaven Posted February 22, 2008 Report Posted February 22, 2008 You will need to go back to the sites you downloaded the torrents from originally to get the torrent files again. Did you ever previously use the uT Auto-Load Torrent Folder option? If so you may find files with a windows search or command line search for "*.LOADED".
Fafnr Posted February 22, 2008 Author Report Posted February 22, 2008 Unfortunately not. Well, too bad. I guess I'll have to read the manual next time. Cheers to everyone for their help!
