TH3W1R3D
I know that if I want to manually update the tracker I can by right clicking and selecting "Update Tracker" but is it possible to speed up the default automatic 30 minute tracker update time? DreadWingKnight
No.That interval is defined by the tracker.
TH3W1R3D
Defined by the tracker? I don't think so, after all you can manually do it. I think its defined by the client. Doesn't azureus have a shorted update time?
GTHK
The tracker can send two keys, "min interval", which prevents you from updating until the minimum time limit in it passes, and "interval", which gives the time a client should wait before updating again. I think it's locked to no more then an hour for the regular interval.Edit: Fixed.. I think
Ultima
interval controls the automatic update time, and that behavior isn't going to change, no matter how badly you may want it. Hammering the tracker against the tracker administrator's wishes doesn't benefit anyone.@GTHK: No underscore
TH3W1R3D
I see, thanks. Still I find it unfortunate that there is no way to control it.
Ultima
It would be more unfortunate if trackers began to ban µTorrent just because it apparently didn't honor the tracker-specified announce interval.
TH3W1R3D
Yes thats very true, after more research on the subject I have a better understanding of why it is the way it is. Guess my only chance is for the private trackers themselves to speed up their announce interval. Does more constant announce intervals really take a toll on the trackers? Ultima
If the tracker has a lot of users each running a bunch of torrents, sure, I can imagine it taking a heavy toll.
