Simone, wat are u trying to proof?

That u can get good speeds on a porn or anime torrent that has 97 seeds and 5 leechers? Firstly all porn and anime torrents give great speeds and secondly looking at the peer statistics, of course its no surprise.

Any client can do that. Take a look at the torrent above that.

i guess the point was that it did connect to so many seeds... so far i havent gotten connected to more than 4 seeds on torrent that had over 1k of seeds...

No. The point was I got 97 out of 123

And that when correctly setup the client can do what any other client can do.

once again, The only shots I see in this post have ridiculously more seeds than peers... BUT we all know the weakest utorrent point is to maintain connections with PEERS (the other was to obtain quickly connections was solved with 1.1.3)

So, now , go to some public traker like piratebay, demonoid or www.secret-cinema.com, take one torrent with ridiculously more PEERS than seeds for a change and post your screenshots

no problems with speed here either. must say I'm amazed at the small memory footprint of this application. in these dark times when every app just gets more and more bloated its such a relief to see a memory/performance efficient program come out once in a while.

here's hoping this will be a trendsetter!

oh, and please keep it as light as possible!

@juju:

is it dropping connections when there are a huge amount of peers or? what have you set 'maximum number of connected peers per torrent' to?

out of curiosity I'm wondering what winsock IO model they are using, here's hoping it's _NOT_ WSAASyncSelect.

"huge" peers at not necessary : if there are let's say 5 seeds for 20 peers, that's enough for utorrent to not connect or loose majority of peer connections. maybe it has something to do with "choking" function implementation ?

Concerning parameters, I consider default parameters should give good results , so I don't change them to make tests. We'll have years to play with it when utorrent'll be fully operational in ALL circumstances (and I don't doubt it ll be soon), not only when there are tons of seeds..

Tomorrow night I'm going to download a file with only one seeder and lots of leechers (100 at least). You'll get screenshots.

The issue with using a tracker like the one you mentioned is the inability of uT to filter peers that send bad data like the ones from RIAA, MPAA, HBO and MediaSentry.

I found you a speed test with 256 seeds and 1111 peers.

Check it out below.

wrong, wrong and wrong :

1 secret-cinema is far to small/recent/underground& mpaa free to have some garbage servers connected on it

2 I strictly don't care about recent hollywood/tv series/etc etc and when I make some comparative tests between bitcomet & utorrent, I am sure bitcomet downloads no garbage on these torrents (you can see differents amounts ul/dl useful/useless data on the general info)

3 please pm me your torrent with 200 seed 1134 peer, I'll check with bitcomet to compare results and we'll see...

Look how much he is uploading. For the first torrent his upload is twice his download.

If u upload so much, of course u gonna get higher speeds.

But having said that, for the first torrent, he might have reached the max percentage of the of the other peers.

So 1 seed is not a good judge coz when u reach max percentage, it wd not reflect good speeds.

However it seems to have connected to the lone seed and most peers. So thats a good sign
