ariele2
Hi! i used version 1.6.1 and works fine, but when the power is cut, loose all torrents loaded. Now i use version 1.7.7 and have a lot of HASH FAIL. Example: of 130mb file have 26mb wasted, and 6 or more HASH FAILS. How can i do to improve this???? Greetings from Argentina! DreadWingKnight
Don't worry about it.Pieces that fail hash checks are discarded and re-downloaded.
ariele2
yes i know, but here (argentina) the speed of inet is poor.I was thinking in something of settings...Thanks!
DreadWingKnight
There are no settings in uTorrent that will affect the number of hashfails you get.Repeated bad piece senders are banned automatically.
ariele2
Ok. Thank you!..... added later.....but i have a question... in version 1.6.1 was less the hash fails.... how it is posible??Thanks for everything!!!!!
jewelisheaven
Hashfails are dependent upon the swarm. If you tested the same torrent in 1.6, 1.7, or 1.8 without running an appropriate ipfilter.dat you will see the same % of hashfails. That is ... before uT bans the peers. 1.8 is more aggressive in auto-banning peers sending bad pieces.
ariele2
ok, but version 1.8 where it is???? in the homepage???
jewelisheaven
Sorry about that. You can find it in the Announcements forum It is a good idea to test it self-contained since it's not stable and you already have working settings for 1.
ariele2
ok. Thanks. still using 1.7.7...nowlater will try new versions. But i´m not sure, new versions are not ever better. in all programs. for me.
jewelisheaven
Hashfails still depend upon the swarm, but detection and removal of those bad peers with default settings is markedly faster in 1.8. That's the only real different in that mechanic. 1.8 isn't ready for all people yet, that's why it's in-development Take your time, and that's why you can always use multiple copies to see when it feels comfortable to use it.
