bemymonkey
Hi,I've been using uTorrent for a few months now, and it's great - fast, light on resources, and pretty much just a great piece of coding - congrats and thanks! But there's one problem I'm having - a few torrents don't ever actually start. Right now, for instance, I'm downloading one that shows seeds as 0(32) and peers as 0(40). Status is on Downloading, but nothing's happening - been this way for hours...Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Switeck
If you've exceeded any limits your ISP has, they may be crippling your line as a result....Or they may be implementing ISP-wide throttling/disrupting/blocking of BitTorrent traffic.Does the OpenOffice test torrents work fine? bemymonkey
I've got 4 other torrents running at the same time at about 9mbit/s downstream (16mbit cap), so I don't think it's an ISP problem - it just seems to be one out of every 100 torrents or so that does this...It's as if the tracker reports peers, but can't actually find them... jewelisheaven
What are your limits for peer connections (Ctrl-G)... and what are your active peers (Alt-H-S)? You really shouldn't be running 100 torrents concurrently.
bemymonkey
Actually, as I stated in my last post, I'm running 5 torrents at once, not 100 ...Connections (global) is at 230, if that's what you mean...
Switeck
Seeing lots of fake peers/seeds that never connect is common for certain types of fake (or seriously poisoned!) torrents.
bemymonkey
Oh, so the torrents are just fake? That would explain it, of course... never even thought of that. Thanks then!
