Superpiccolo
I have this laptop that I have been trying to use as a permanent seeding PC, and I have been experience constant crashing with utorrent 1.7.7.When I first started to use it on the machine it worked alright for a few torrents, then when I tried to queue up about 10 or so torrents together (5 dling at once, the rest seeding) and tried to leave it over night it would crash sometime in that time. It would crash mainly if I had large (4GB and up) torrents in the dl queue. If I had many torrents of relatively small size (150mbish) it would dl fine.It did this several times without fail. I thought it might have been some preexisting spyware/malware on the machine (as it was 2nd hand to me) so I decided to format with a clean SP2 install. This is where I am now. I have a clean install with only utorrent and Comodo firewall installed (it is set to fully allow all UT traffic) and I still have the same problem (with many large files in a DL queue it crashes). So I have now tried to limit the max torrents DLing to 2. This worked for one night, but now it crashed again. The only other thing I can think of that might be causing it is that the lappy has only 512 ram, but I would think that shouldn't matter as after all it is u(micro)torrent.I have all my Data on an external drive connected via USB. It crashed before I hooked this up also (I hooked it up as the internal HDD is too small). Here is a HJT log, PE log and my crash dumps:Hijack This LOGLogfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2Scan saved Firon
Is it only the client crashing? How large is your disk cache?
Superpiccolo
Yea it is. When I pop the top I see the error report screen. The PC itself hasn't crashed once.As far as I know it is all default settings. This is what it is set on:
Firon
Can you try disabling UPnP? Failing that, can you see if 1.8 works for you?
Superpiccolo
Alright, I'll try the UPnP disabling. I will only be able to test over night (my off peak download time). I'll bring word if it helps.

Superpiccolo
Hmm, yea interesting. Would it harm anything if I repaired it with HLT?
Ultima
guard32.dll is a Comodo component -- you'd best leave it alone, unless you want to try uninstalling Comodo to see if that resolves the problem? I'd doubt it's the problem, though, since I never had crashing issues with Comodo...

Superpiccolo
Well, the UPnP being turned off seemed to do the trick. I upped the max DL's to 5 and the max active torrents to 10, and it went all night without a crash. Thanks for the help.Could anyone explain why this fixed it? jewelisheaven
If it's a comodo component they should frakkin tag their DLLs ><UPnP is an alternate feature which doesn't need to be enabled if you're forwarding. But I couldn't tell you why leaving it enabled could cause the crashing
Ultima
Indeed, if it's crashing due to UPnP, then it probably needs to be fixed. Do you have any crash dumps in %appdata%\uTorrent, or in your µTorrent executable's directory? If so, can you upload them to some site (like mediafire.com or savefile.com)? Firon
I mentioned UPnP because it's a known issue.. It's rare, but it does happen.I believe it's been fixed in 1.8.
Superpiccolo
@ UltimaThe only dumps I have are the ones I listed above (http://www.zshare.net/download/8485454aede504/)Well it does seem to have resolved the issue. If it goes alright tonight (I queued up a bunch more downloads) then it should be fixed.
