dolbysnoopy
Is there an option I can hide the tray icon when minimized? I've select "Start utorrent when system startup" but I want it running in background and keep up/downloading when connected to internet secretly.. splintax
Secretly? Why?There is an inbuilt Windows feature to do this.
Ultima
Well, that's not "real" hiding =PI'm not sure this kind of feature would be used too often, so I doubt it'll be added O.o

splintax
Just to add to what Firon said, if (like me) you have taskbar options (right click -> Properties) "Hide inactive icons" unchecked, that won't work. But it's a good enough fix for me. chaosblade
He's looking for something like the boss key in certain apps. Hides the window presence completely on a specific keystroke. was dicussed alot of times and we reached the conclusion its not uTorrent's job of hiding your program from other people. Ultima
Hm... *speculatuion* maybe PunBB uses the same post ID for multi-posts, and deletes based on PID?
dolbysnoopy
firon: It works, but if I press the arrow icon at the left of systray, it shows all hided icons including utorrent.
Firon
Yep. Not much you can do about that. Could always find a way to make it run as a hidden service.
splintax
or you could run one of many third party apps that hide icons in the systrayi think most of them are shareware though (have to pay to register them)
TheBear
Why hide the tray icon?I'm not ashamed to run µTorrent.
Ultima
You might not be, but others might be. Now... whether µTorrent should do the job to hide anything... that's a different question ;P
dolbysnoopy
Because that's not my system, I can't turn on 24hrs a day, but I can run 4-8hrs a day, so a method to hide it when system is turn on & connected to internet is needed for me to maximize the use of internet bandwidth and file sharing. Ultima
You could use Fast User Switching then, it doesn't close your applications and stuff, and everything keeps running in the background.
jroc
^^ Thats probably the best way to go. That way, other ppl using ur PC have no chance of messing with ANY application u have running or installed. Just make sure other folks dont know ur login password. And if they do, change it, and dont tell em....lol
Sid32
Or You can change the tray icon to something that people won't notice. Ie. an invisible one or ms anti-spyware..
