Get Process Explorer from sysinternals.com, run it, Ctrl+D (to show the lower DLL pane), select the µTorrent process from the list, Ctrl+S (and save the list somewhere you'll find easily -- like the Desktop), then post the contents of the saved process list in the .txt file here.

Could be your SMAX audio program.. but more likely is truevector from ZA. . . I would also run HiJackThis and post it here (covered in the How-To link below) as it sounds like you may also have crap/mal-ware installed :/

The only way to bypass the ZA stuff is to completely uninstall it ...and it wouldn't hurt to follow up with a registry cleaner and disk cleaner to be sure! :(

Uh, before you go ahead and do that, make sure you're not downloading the file to a path that's too long -- Windows has a path length limit of 255 characters. Basically, try saving the file to a place closer to the drive root, like C:\.

Well, ignoring the crash for now, does the file access issue continue to occur with the paths set closer to the drive root?

Also, can you post an updated process list?

Comodo I can recommend without too much hesitation. It's free, but very powerful (maybe too powerful for the casual end user?). It's sometimes annoying to set things up properly with Comodo, but at the least, I've detailed a set of firewall rules here that worked well for me when I used Comodo.

Outpost has been a mixed bag. It used to be good, but increasingly, I've been seeing many users complain about the occasional problems with it. YMMV with that one, I suppose.
