ABCDE
Hi,I can DL fine - But when I want to seed, my connection shuts down. When I start the seed, it starts connecting to the peers and it starts to upload. It gets to around 10-15 peers and a speed of maybe 15 k/Bps. Then it shuts down.I remain connected to the internet according to my computer, but I cant get to any homepages, recieve e-mails or anything. I have to stop the seed, stop the connection and the reconnect and then there are no problems until I try to seed again!I use a mobile broadband internet modem (3G). I have been DL and UL for almost 6 months with no problems, now al of a sudden I can only download. When I test the connection and the port forwarding with micro-torrent it sais all is fine....What is the problem - Please help me...
jewelisheaven
It sounds like your ISP doesn't like uploading :/ Can you try setting the "alternate upload rate when not downloading" in Preferences (Ctrl-P ->Connection) and set it LOWER than your current upload? It's possible that would allow it. It is also possible it may be that you are connecting to too many peers. If you lower the peer connection counts just below in "BitTorrent" does that help? I would imagine that you're using too many peer connections. Over wireless vs. wired you should cut the Speed Guide values in half. And additionally over cellular networks (similar to satellite networks where you can't forward ports) i'd imagine you shouldn't try hundreds of concurrent peers due to overload.... but then again I've never tried. That it is an acute problem means something has changed. And it just may be that your provider decided to limt you due to data usage... or that they provide countermeasures to stop filesharing, or that their policy has always been to limit uploads... but they implemented this so gradually that it's been hard to notice. If you want a large variety of peers to connect to I know releases from dattebayo.com have literally tens of thousands of peers on thursdays. It won't be quite as many today but it's still sizeable that you get quite a range of peers to connect to. I recommend that since your problem is uploading not downloading... and the general download torrents (OpenOffice and Slackware) don't work so well when you're trying to UPLOAD efficiently to peers
