when i add a completed file to seed it checks it and sometimes theres <1% not completed.

so it downloads that 256k etc.

that makes my ratio off cus it uses the 256k not the whole file size.

so it wont finish at 2:1.

i hate to delete it and recheck it to get the # back to 0.

cus some files are 2gb im sure it will just do it again.

is this just a minor bug and i should just uncheck the stop option and just stop them manually?

the files are complete it just doesnt like it when it checks it.

and it thinks 1 piece is bad and redownloads that one piece.

after it checks the file and it comes back as missing one piece should i just recheck it till it comes back at 100%

What filetypes does this happen on? Is the red area (Files tab) at the end or beginning of the file? If not, it's ram or disk corruption. If yes, are they media files which are indexed by your media player or library?

there tv rips.

the files havent been changed.

i.e.

i would have like 4 single file torrents.

then they would put them on 1 torrent so it would recheck the original 4 files under the 1 torrent.

i dont play the files on that pc so they shouldnt have been changed by a media player.

its an old pc 450mhz.

and it uses 100% when it checks.

the hd is new tho but its eide on an old pc.

Where is the RED part of the file(s) in the Files tab? If during a hashcheck uT finds bad pieces it marks them as such and you will re-download it. Nothing you can do.... You can edit the resume.dat with an appropriate editor (like Ultima's in my signature)... changing the appropriate key when this happens, but there's no problem with uT. If this happens regularly you may want to do a thorough check of your disks with chkdsk and then a RAM checker like memtest86 to verify nothing is going bad on you.

Man 450 MHz those were the days :) I still have my K6-2 for testing / Linux . How large is the hard drive? Were there any implementation problems with the hard drive conflicting with the BIOS sizing?

ya its just for file sharing.

its an 80gb slave.

ill have to check where the bad piece was next time.

oh ya i had it as a fat32 so i could transfer files in dos.

i just converted it to ntfs maybe that might help.

the bios seemed to auto type it fine.

i think the 450 might just be a little slow when its checking it.

it does it alot.

maybe 1/4 ish

Yeah, NTFS helps as the journaling provides some means of... recovery in the event of failure. FAT checks can take FOREVER on only moderately (20%) fragmented hard drives. If it happens again (on that torrent, or elsewhere) double check to be sure you indeed have all the files in the torrent. Regularly people package multiple similar content in folders with read.me NFO and SFV files. Truth be told even though it's a hassle to have "extra" files you don't care about it's usually just easier to leave everything as downloaded because the size of the files is so small.

ya im 100% sure the files are 100% complete when i reseed them.

if i deleted the nfo files i would have noticed it.

usually it only happens on single file video files not a group of rars.

i wiped my pc so i had to transfer the files back and forth between pc's

it might have gotten corrupted.

it almost never finds a bad piece if im seeding on my good pc.

i think the hd buss is just too slow for that new hard drive.

some times it says that 100% error in the status bar.

i think the pc is just too old

thanks anyways.

ya i saw a couple of other posts like this

i hate to run a mem check and live with out the internet for that long

lol

------------------------

ya i re checked a torrent again and it said both files were bad at the very beginning and the very end.

i just downloaded them so i know there good.

it doesnt do this on my new pc.

-----------------------------

ya that editor works nice

thanks
