conejocontento
Hey guys quick question. I have upgraded to v1.8 Beta...Everything seems ok with the exception of one thing... Even if I mark a file to be skipped (no matter before or during the transfer) it still downloads it. and not just pieces but in its entirety. Has anyone else seen this problem? Thanks in Advance
DreadWingKnight
Compact allocation and selective downloading are mutually exclusive.
conejocontento
I guess I didn't realize that every new version I need to read the FAQ...BTW, Search did it before I wrote. Also I do not preallocate.
jewelisheaven
Not the FAQ, the changelog. It covers over 35 public revisions iirc.Pre-allocate is not compact allocation. This change is due to limitations of compact allocation. You will also notice sparse files are not default for Vista. This is due to limitations in Windows which creates problems with large filesizes.
Ultima
The sparse file limitation occurs with any sparse file -- not just large ones.
jewelisheaven
Quite right. However as size increases for the individual file the likelihood one encounters it also increases... at least until MS puts out a patch for ntfs.sys
