Anna Rajan Posted March 17, 2008 Report Share Posted March 17, 2008 Hi I'm using utorrent for the 1st time...i tried downloading torrents from URL & I keep getting "Error:'offline(timed out)while downloading URL"...at a certain point...say abt 70%...no matter which URL i choose...wat does it mean?Can anyone help?Oops! jewelisheaven Posted March 17, 2008 Report Share Posted March 17, 2008 Offline (Timeout) is you overloading your connection. If it doesn't happen all the time, it's transient so it should come back eventually. Timeout will not affect your downloads though. It is more affected by Availabilty and Availability graph... if there's not > .700 then you can't complete it. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

jewelisheaven Posted March 17, 2008 Report Share Posted March 17, 2008 Different questions. Are you at the limit of current swarm availability for the torrent? If so stopping or rearranging the other two torrents won't help you download any more.Overloading your connection means for whatever reason the upload you are putting out is too much for your line to handle. You can try temporarily reducing this as mentioned in Ultima's How-To (link below)... if it immediately gets rid of the timeouts then that's the problem.
