Help for a n00b

I've read the faq's and the help guides but I still don't understand. The icon on the bottom is not green, it's a yellow triangle. My download speeds are slow and I want to speed it up. It says my port is not open. I tried port forwarding but I couldn't get it to work. If you could help it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

EDIT: I got port forwarding working when directly connected to the modem but I don't know how to get it working when it's attached to the router and modem.

Find out the router make/model and try out http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm It has some step-by-step guides.

If you get stuck reply back with HOW FAR you did get and where you were stuck

I followed that before and I did get it working directly from the modem but I'm trying to set it up with multiple routers. Westell 6100 modem - Dynex DX - E401 router - Netgear WPN824v2 wireless router - the computer with utorrent installed.

Oh jeebus. K wellll I see the wireless must be required for wifi capability. . .but I'm not sure which one it would be easier to setup in "bridge mode"... Having double-NAT (where two devices create their own NAT / firewall) makes things magnitudes harder. Do the forwarding rules for on the Dynex say if you're wired and trying to forward through the westell + dynex?

Thanks for the help, I tried an faq on portforward.com about double port forwarding but it only put two routers into the equation. Maybe the modem dosen't need to be configured? I don't really understand your last question.

OK, so you're asking about port forwarding through both the dynex and netgear right?

Say you try forwarding the dynex... and have it configured to a WIRED computer. Does the rule allow you to receive incoming connections on the wired computer in the dynex port forwarding list?

All the computers are connected through a wired connection. http://portforward.com/help/doublerouterportforwarding.htm I think I have to forward both but I need to set up a static IP for one or both of them? That's where I got stuck. I'm not sure about the settings of the static IP's.

EDIT: I spent a whole day tinkering with the settings but I think I fixed it. The green circle is on the bottom and the port is apparently open. My DL speeds aren't that fast so far but I think that's because of low seed counts. I guess this means it's as fast as it's gonna go huh?

EDIT: Now the icon is yellow again and my port isn't forwarded. I used static IP's and didn't change anything so why would that happen?
