GTHK
You, seem to be misunderstanding. I didn't say PG2 is a problem, I said it could be under the right circumstances.SPI firewall is disabled in the Netgear by going to WAN Setup in the advanced section, and checking "Disable SPI Firewall". n1nA8RFL
Wow I feel stupid, thanks. I turned the firewall off but it is still internittent.
GTHK
How's it working? I'd load test it with something that downloads fast.
n1nA8RFL
I tested it with a slackware torrent and it maxed out and stayed at around 90kb/s but it still had port forwarding issues every few minutes.
GTHK
Well I remember this issue being related to an SPI firewall in one case......... try the Dynex.
n1nA8RFL
the Dynex only has rules for it's firewall settings.
GTHK
Can you swap the two routers, and set up the Netgear for PPPoE (logging in), with SPI disabled still and see how µT works?
n1nA8RFL
I can't try that now but I checked the disable radio button in the Dynex's firewall settings but you have to enter IP ranges which I don't see how that's relevant if your disabling it. I think the firewall is off by default since it wasn't configured.
GTHK
If everything is forwarded correctly, and if swapping out the Dynex fixes the intermittent ports, then something is wrong with the Dynex.
n1nA8RFL
I'll give it a try in a bit.Do you think a switch would be a better choice instead of the Dynex router?
