neumannu47
Recently I tried to upgrade to uTorrent from BitTorrent/BitTornado, which has worked flawlessly for a couple of years but does not have the bandwidth limiting features available with uT. Since BT works, the .torrent files it downloads are valid. When I try to download the same torrent from uT (open URL), I get an "unable to load...invalid torrent file" error. uT is configured for a single port, and that port is forwarded. The Help file does not appear to contain helpful information for this problem. The OS is Windows 2000 SP2. There is clearly a configuration problem somewhere, but since I'm new to uT, I don't know where else to look. Thanks for your patience with a newbie! DreadWingKnight
What happens when you try to save the .torrent then open it in uT?
neumannu47
It seems to be working. What does that tell you?
DreadWingKnight
It tells me that whatever site you're using has some sort of authentication system in place that uTorrent's "Add from URL" doesn't handle.
neumannu47
The site is uknova.com. I thought I saw people there using uTorrent, but maybe not. Do you know of a fix?Edit: There are plenty of problems reported with uTorrent in the UKNova forums. One person's theory is that uT does not like the quotation marks in the show titles. The problem is reportedly being fixed in version 1.8. My version is 1.77.
Firon
That's got nothing to do with it.If you're using open URL, it won't work if the site requires -any- authentication (simply because it doesn't have the cookie info to pass).
