Ultima
What modem are you using? What router? What firewall? Did you set your computer to have a static IP outside of your router's DHCP range?
torrese
I have a dsl westell 2200, the only firewall i have is the one that came with vista, i do not know how to set my computer to have a static ip outside of router. Appreciate you answering so quickly. Oh and i have a linksys wrt54g-v5
Ultima
Look in your router configuration to find the DHCP range (might be an explicit range, like "192.168.1.100 - 192.168.1.149", or it might be a start/count like "192.168.1.100 with 50 IPs"). After that, decide on what IP you want for your computer (192.168.1.50 is outside of 192.168.1.100 - 192.168.1.149, for example), then...http://www.portforward.com/networking/staticip.htmAfter you set a static IP up, forward the port to that IP.Edit: You're double-NAT'd if you're using a Westell + Linksys. Check the advanced port forwarding guide in the user manual (found in my signature) regarding double NAT.
torrese
I am so sorry Ultima, you are speaking french to me right now. I don't understand why it was working before and now it isn't. I know that my internet provider 6 months ago configured my router to work with the westell and when i go to ip config it gives me an ip address of 10.10.10.100, does that help you? Ultima
It probably doesn't work anymore because your computer's IP probably changed (a side effect of not setting a static IP up for your computer).http://www.utorrent.com/setup_guide.phpHave you checked this yet? In particular, the section about resolving a NAT issue? It's relevant to you, but not wholly, because your network setup is a bit more complicated than that (which is where the guide I mentioned earlier comes into play). torrese
Even if I disconnect my router from my computer and connect it directly to my westell modem i still get the same error message, no incoming connection.
Ultima
Yes, because the Westell also behaves like a router, and that's why the only solution is to double-port forward (which is discussed in the advanced port forwarding guide).
