nabilalk
Hello,Since upgrading to 1.8 Beta, I have been having problems with torrents that suddenly stop downloading, and I get the red circle with the white x. The logger always has the same error, "Error opening X:\Incoming\Still Incoming\file_name.avi":After the torrent stops downloading, I have to hit Force start multiple times before the torrent finally finishes. The problem only seems to be occurring with .avi files, however it has happened on multiple occasions. Here is a piece of the error log:[01:29:28] Error opening "X:\Incoming\Still Incoming\file_name.avi": [01:29:34] Error opening "X:\Incoming\Still Incoming\File_name.avi": [01:29:34] Error opening "X:\Incoming\Still Incoming\File_name.avi": [01:29:34] Error opening "X:\Incoming\Still Incoming\File_name.avi": [01:29:34] Error opening "X:\Incoming\Still Incoming\File_name.avi": [01:29:34] Error opening "X:\Incoming\Still Incoming\File_name.avi": [01:29:34] Error opening "X:\Incoming\Still Incoming\File_name.avi": [01:29:34] Error opening "X:\Incoming\Still Incoming\File_name.avi": [01:29:34] Error opening "X:\Incoming\Still Incoming\File_name.avi": [01:29:34] Error opening "X:\Incoming\Still Incoming\File_name.avi": [01:29:34] Error opening "X:\Incoming\Still Incoming\File_name.avi": [01:29:34] Error opening "X:\Incoming\Still Incoming\File_name.avi": [01:29:34] Error opening "X:\Incoming\Still Incoming\File_name.avi": [01:29:34] Error opening "X:\Incoming\Still Incoming\File_name.avi": [01:29:35] Error opening "X:\Incoming\Still Incoming\File_name.avi": [01:29:35] Error opening "X:\Incoming\Still Incoming\File_name.avi": [01:29:35] Error opening "X:\Incoming\Still Incoming\File_name.avi": [01:29:35] Error opening "X:\Incoming\Still Incoming\File_name.avi": [01:29:35] Error opening "X:\Incoming\Still Incoming\File_name.avi":Anyone know what this error means, and why is utorrent trying to open files that are not are not yet 100% complete? Thanks in advance for your help.-NKAUPDATE: Adding the utorrent default download directory to the search exclusions list of GoogleDesktop has resolved the issue. jewelisheaven
uTorrent opens all files it needs to write to ><If it's media files which are affected it sounds like you've got some media player or media indexer running which likes to look at all files. See if adding uTorrent's downloading folder to an exception list helps.Did you add this type of rule for uT 1.7 previously?
nabilalk
Thanks, I will try that and post back to let you know what's going on. I have Google Desktop installed, and I believe that I upgraded utorrent around the same time that I installed GD.
jewelisheaven
Well.. considering GDS is on http://utorrent.com/faq.php#Incompatible_software :/ I'd try excepting, or stopping it while running uT to see if that indeed is the problem. nabilalk
@maqk: The problem for me was Google Desktop was trying to index files that were not completely downloaded. After I disabled the indexing of the utorrent download folders, I no longer had the problem.

nabilalk
Hmmm...well that was my issue. It sounds like you have a similar problem. Are you sure that you don't have any applications that are trying to index your download folder?
harikaram
I have the same problem. I've been running GDS for ages without incident. I'll try disabling it...
