iissmart
I'm trying to set up uTorrent with WebUI v0.310 Public beta 2 in Ubuntu (with WINE), and so far I have it set up to randomize the torrent port, and use port 81 as the webui port. Right now when I try to access the webui, it says FireFox cannot connect to the server (on port 81). When I try to connect to my IP on the torrent port it says "Invalid Request", which I assume it's supposed to do. I have port 81 forwarded to my computer and the torrent port is UPnP enabled. Is there something I'm missing to get it to connect to the webui?
Firon
you need to add the /gui in the url
iissmart
Sorry, I forgot to mention that. I already try it without and with /gui in the url, but regardless, it still can't connect on port 81.
jewelisheaven
It's mentioned in the readme if you see invalid request it's on the wrong port. Be sure your forwarding rules are correct and that the alternate port is forwarded. ALTERNATE port means you need a different port rule for /gui/
Lord Alderaan
He's NOT seeing Invalid Request. It is timing out...Does the webui work locally (as in trying to open it on the same PC as it is running)? If no, can you check in µtorrent in the logger tab for an error like:[timestamp] Unable to listen for HTTP traffic on port webui portIf yes, does it work from another PC in the same LAN (if you have any)? No would most likely indicate a firewall issue on the machine running µtorrent Yes would most likely indicate a port forwarding issue.
iissmart
Thanks for all the replies. I found the problem - port 81 was reserved for something else and therefore would not open even when port forwarded (as well as UPnP automatically opening it). I changed the port to 41424 (a random number) and when UPnP opened it, everything worked fine. Weird.
