GTHK
It sounds like a firewall problem. Are/what internet security software are you using? You need to recreate the rules on some of them because they don't like updates.
oxette
many thanks for your reply. i use norton internet security. do you know how to create the rules on that? (i looked at the guide at the bottom of your message & couldn't see how it applies. again, thanks.
GTHK
That's my signature, I put a link to that guide on the off chance anyone needed it, but it doesn't apply in this case. Also, Norton. Is. Crap. I don't know how to configure it, maybe someone will pop in, if not, you can try looking it up, I might do it after I finish reading how much Windows sucks at what I wanted to do. In the mean time, do you have a router?
oxette
thanks again. no, i don't have a router. blasted, wish i hadn't accepted the update. i've even tried removing the software & downloading utorrent & bit torrent again, but no joy. it's been like this a few days. GTHK
The problem is most likely with Norton, µT is not to blame, and the updates fix a security bug. You need to open Norton, find the firewall rules, see if µT is already there, delete the rule, and create a new one. Try searching the forum if you can't figure this out yourself, or find a computer literate friend.
