Hey, as of late uTorrent, which has always ran great, is slowing my computer down immensely. I don't have any software firewalls and I didn't see anything else in the FAQ section that solved the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated, heres my specs:

WinXP Pro SP2

Intel Pentium D CPU 3GHz

2 GB of RAM

NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT

Hm, I don't see anyting immediately suspicious (well, that Creative DLL hooking onto µTorrent is odd, but I don't think it'd cause such problems).

Start > Run > devmgmt.msc

Check your primary and secondary IDE ATA/ATAPI controller's properties to see if any of the connected devices' current transfer modes are in PIO.

:/ Interrupts and not DPCs... I'd try turning off / disabling that creative "media sniffer" and the dlink configurator. It's possible that is conflicting with the built-in windows wireless configurator.

ctagent hasn't been fingered for any of these types of usage problems lately even though its injection is .. unexpected.

It sounds like Ultima actually. I don't do hardware >< I still run a single core processor as my production machine ;)

In any case continually switching to PIO suggests something is going bad either with the controller or the hard drive. I'm thinking any tools with that S.M.A.R.T. capability would help diagnose anything wrong.
