spartan138
I am unable to even start to download any torrents. I am getting an "access denied" error when I try to open one. The problem started after I followed the port forwarding steps. I was successful in getting the port forwarded but now I cannot download anything. Here is my hijackthis log. jewelisheaven
That's disheartening All I see there which could cause troubles is McAfee. I don't know whether it's the Shield active scanner or not, but you should try turning off the features one by one to identify the problem service. I presume you tested if all filetypes get the Error: Access Denied message? Aside from media files the test torrents openoffice and slackware are good candidates because they are not likely to be affected by anything but a resident scanner or search indexer.I don't know for sure but it may also be either of those Ascentive products, neither was running at the time of the scan though. spartan138
I was unable to do either openoffice or slackware. As soon as I try to download the message says "unable to load (torrent name), access denied. " I have a torrent currently downloading that was downloading when I forwarded the port. The only thing that changed is when I forwarded my port. The torrent is still downloading. I checked and made sure I can download more than one. jewelisheaven
How did you load that torrent? Do the torrents load correctly if you save the file first and then use Ctrl-O/D or click-drag it into uT?
spartan138
Yes they do. Thanks for the help. Now I feel like an idiot. Before all I had to do was open them. Thanks again!
jewelisheaven
Well here's something to look at then... with that kind of behaviour it sounds like the browser has troubles... Are you running it as some special user? Are you running as a limited user yourself in Windows? Are you running uT with alternate credentials? Have you tried removing and re-adding the filetype association in your browser? Those are the ideas off the top of my head. Also be sure you are linking to the correct utorrent.exe
