davexxx
As explained above. This morning i scanned the computer with ad-aware, the first time after i've downloaded utorrent, and I eliminated certain files which where highlighted by the program.I then started utorrent but it wouldn't connect to any seeds or peers. I tried to open bearshare as well and i've got the same problem as it wouldn't connect to the servers. As i didn't want to loose the settings on utorrent I uninstalled bearshare and reinstalled it but the same problem occurs so I suppouse I've delete something that I didn't download with the p2p programs I have.Does anyone have any idea why this happens or what should I do?Thanksdavexxx
DreadWingKnight
sounds like your TCP stack got mangled by spyware then the spyware got mangled by ad-aware.You need to rebuild.

jewelisheaven
bearshare is bundled with spy/mal/ad-ware. Rebuild means if you can't fix the problem by removing and reinstalling the network component drivers and protocols, you must reinstall windows. davexxx
thanks for the hint, but I don't think it helped to much...yesterday evening I've reinstalled windows...started bearshare and still wouldn't connect...I don't think it's a pc problem as i tried from my laptop and that couldn't connect as well...might have to check out the router.Anywho...just know I've opened utorrent...and It took quite a while before the torrents that i'm currently dowloading started working...is it regular that it takes something like 10 minutes to start the downloading? jewelisheaven
Start downloading from what? There is a lack of information as to what is happening, both prior to reinstall and after. In the original post you said there are no peer connections. I'm sorry I didn't ask before but how does http://slackware.com/torrents/ behave?? If that too does not connect to peers immediately indeed you have some problem, perhaps with the hardware between you and your ISP, perhaps in your configuration (you didn't say whether you have the green checkmark http://utorrent.com/faq.php#What_do_the_Network_Status_lights_mean.3F )... Did you go through http://utorrent.com/setup_guide.php to make sure uT isn't configured incorrectly?Does the slackware torrent take 10 minutes to connect to peers after you START it? Are there any Tracker Status error messages when starting it?
