So .. basically External harddrive disconnects for a min, starts again and i start getting checked, I'm downloading about 8 files all 2GB+, One file taking 2 hours just to check isn't really .. helping me .. i need to either turn off that "checked" status or find a way around it.

Thanks

There is no way around checking.

Start > Run > devmgmt.msc

Check your primary and secondary IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers' properties to see if any of the connected devices' current transfer modes are in PIO. If so, uninstall the affected controller and restart your computer.

Removing the controller has no consequence on the torrent jobs list. If that happened, it was merely a bad coincidence. There must have been a bad shutdown whereby µTorrent was unable to properly save resume.dat (which stores the torrents).

You're probably going to have to reload the missing torrents from %appdata%\uTorrent.

Checking again upon reload is normal.

Edit: I just realized that I fail at reading. If you're using an external drive, then all you can do is stop the drive from disconnecting periodically. If you can't... well, you probably shouldn't be using that drive for downloading then.
