govindbn
This is my setup.Internet ---> Prolink Hurricane 9000C ADSL ethernet modem ---> Linksys WRT54G ver 5.0 ---> My Computer.uTorrent says that I need to forward a port for good download speeds. I successfully forwarded a port on the Wireless router but i still got the RED error tag. Then after browsing thru these forums, I found that the ADSL modem has to be in Bridge mode. I am not sure as to how to do that? Does any member use similar devices and settings? Please help me forward a port on my modem too...Thanks. GTHK
Bridge mode would take another device out of the equation. There is a guide in my signature for it, alternatively you can see if you need to port forward on the modem, but I'd prefer bridge mode. The icon being red is a problem though, according to the FAQ it means the port couldn't bind, meaning a firewall is blocking it or another program is using it. Try another port (and be sure to forward it), if it persists, you probably have to tweak a firewall. If you can't figure out whats blocking it, bottom of this thread, get the logs at the bottom.Once you get the port working though, your 54G might spontaneously reboot from low memory, if/when that happens while testing one of these torrents, can you try disabling the SPI firewall on the Linksys? jewelisheaven
http://utorrent.com/setup_guide.phpThe procedure may differ depending upon your hardware. Portforward.com lists many of them.
