MrPhead
Hi, actually I already opened one of my ports. The problem is, my parents bought norton 360, and blocked my access to the router, so I can't see the port I opened anymore. Since they deleted utorrent, I had to redownload it, but now I can't remember which port I oppened, so I would like to know if there's a way of scanning my pc for open ports, knowing that norton 360 prevents me from scanning from my pc (it shows everything closed, even port 80 for ie). So... yep thats my problem, if anyone could help me...
GTHK
Try talking to them, a router is a firewall also, plus, Norton is a crappy made program. If not, and you're not expecting them to touch the router, normally all the settings can be erased by holding the reset button some amount of time.Try UPnP port mapping in µT to open another port.If UPnP doesn't work, using google I found this program, set it to the range you believe your port to be in, and guess your port one by one in the port forward tester. jewelisheaven
I don't know whether http://www.codeproject.com/KB/IP/PortForward.aspx would help but it's a tiny program the developers suggest for testing UPnP....As far as testing for open ports.... there are external testers like http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=38371However be advised if you want a FULL check which is 1-65535 and given the timeout (at least when I checked it) was 10 seconds for ports not forwarded through my router... That's a full 7 days running 24/7Are you sure they deleted uTorrent's settings.dat file? If you just run uT again with the file already existing, it will pick up on the previous port. GTHK
D'OH! Yeah, look for your settings.dat, if that's gone though you can test ranges of ports using something like https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?rh1dkyd2 to test, GRC only takes 64 ports at a time though.
