GTHK
When checking the controllers in the device manager, if it says PIO as the Current Transfer Mode in the properties, right-click on the controller and click uninstall, do this for each controller that's stuck in PIO, then restart. Switeck
"half-open number was 900"Nuts!Even at 8 it's tends to be good enough for anything.
erez_hazan
Nope all my controllers is on "DMA if Available"...---- What are you tallking about when it's in high number it connect's faster and the last time i checked on one file it took like 100 half-open.... GTHK
Not the current setting, the "Current Transfer Mode", DMA may be set, but if it says PIO as the current transfer mode then you need to uninstall it and reboot to try an' kick it over, PIO uses more CPU. DreadWingKnight
"DMA if Available" is in the drop down box.We don't care about the drop down box.We want the greyed textbox below it.

GTHK
Looks similar to my system before I installed the proper driver and removed the controllers... uninstall all the IDE channels and the IDE controller, reboot, see if it detects them as something new.
