Chryss
Hi everyone. I'm looking to buy a new router, as I currently have a garbage Linksys that chokes high data flow and limits the amount of open connections I can have without temporary drops in send/receive.I'm looking for suggestions on what kind of router to buy. In addition to torrenting, I run several other high traffic applications, and have 4 machines running almost constantly. Any advice would be appreciated

Chryss
I should say I don't need wireless, and definitely don't feel comfortable using 3rd party firmware.
DreadWingKnight
The bulk of the problems with linksys routers stems from their own problematic firmwares. 3rd party firmwares fix those issues and more.
hermanm
> I should say I don't need wirelessI don't use the wireless portion of the router myself. But its just great for torrents! I wouldn't run torrents on a wireless connection anyway.
Firon
So turn off the wireless part. And third party firmwares > official firmware.
Chryss
ok, you guys have me convinced. Any suggestions on what firmware to use for a Linksys BEFSR41? This is what I currently have. Please keep in mind that while I'm not a computer retard, I have very little knowledge when it comes to networking - so something that is fairly easy to install? Thanks in advance Chryssalyn
Firon
There is none. You need a different router.
