Common (?) Situations

I'm fairly new at this, but there are two situations that I would like to know if anything can be done about.

1. There is no seed and I and all the other peers have exactly the same pieces.

2. I have 98%+ and there are only 1 or 2 seeds connected and their download pattern is as follows: start at say 0.5 and then drop to 0 in about 5 or 10 seonds. Then no download for a couple minutes and then repeat. This sometimes takes weeks to finish.

I suspect that these problems are just the name of the game, but I would like to be reassured this is the case.

1. Not really. Not everyone is downloading the same pieces at the same time. I guess.

2. You would judt have to wait.

Indeed for 1) the name of the game is wait until someone with more pops on. You can help that along by looking for other places with similar content if the original site does not have a "request reseed" dialog somewhere. Link to this specific torrent's details and say "there are X of us @ XX%

For 2) be patient and if you're REALLY worried, either enable "don't count slow download" to bypass it while still staying in the queue or force start it.
