reddswiss
Recently I have been having problems using Internet Explorer, Firefox Etc. when U-torrent is running. I have searched this and other forums and have not found a solution to my browser problem. My router is configured and a port is open, green light. Using a local provider I have run a speed test. my average is 15,700 kbit down and 1541 kbit up. My settings haven't changed. Everything worked fine up until 3 weeks ago and progressively got worse, now I can not ever access a browser without first shutting down u-torrent.Other online aps work fine with u-torrent open, updates, outlook Etc.Any help is appreciated. Will changing torrent clients help if unable to resolve u-torrent issues?Thank you in advance for any help or suggestions.ADDEDWhat are the best settings for my connection? Using a local provider I have run a speed test. my average is 15,700 kbit down and 1541 kbit up. I am now using the speed guide preset settings for 1 Mbit with my upload set at automatic. I have tried limiting my upload rate manually, this does not correct anything.I have seen in other posts where changing clients was the chosen solution. I like u-torrent and would rather not change. If this is my only choice, what is the next best torrent client?

Firon
Try turning off DHT. If that doesn't help, try lowering global connections.
reddswiss
I have disabled DHT Network and DHT for New Torrents and brought my Global Max connections down to 230. This has not allowed me to use any browser while u-torrent is running. What is DHT?My previous settings as of a few weeks ago were Global Max 600 and all worked perfect. I have been trying everything I can think of. First my download speeds decreased significantly, then intermittent browser connection issues, now no browser while using u-torrent. What should my settings be for my connection? Would another client solve these problems? Thanks
Firon
Can you try connecting directly to the modem, bypassing the router?
reddswiss
Turning off DHT has changed my Down arrow icon from bvlue to red. No change in browser.
Firon
The tracker is probably down in that case. :/
reddswiss
It took me awhile to access my modem as it's not easy to get to. No browser at first - changed Global to 230 and upload slots to 4. Worked this way connected direct. Browser will not work with anything above 230. Disconnected from modem - back through router, works through router with these settings. No browser above Global 230. Is there another solution, as this has reduced my download speeds? Any suggestions or solutions are greatly appreciated.I am using my business notebook to communicate on this forum.
Firon
A better modem is probably the only solution.
reddswiss
What would cause this to happen? All worked fine before. The modem is supplied by my ISP. Would changing BT clients help? can you suggest another client? This is frustrating
