Hi everyone, i'm having a little trouble getting ANYTHING to download. I keep getting this error [03:37:12] Error opening windows firewall: 0x800706D9. I have windows firewall turned off and I've opened my ports also. I have a 2wire 1800hg and I've ran the port test and it still comes up with a error. Im running Nortons and i've disabled the firewall but still the red square...any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you have Windows Firewall disabled, you can ignore that error. If you can't, then you can disable Windows Firewall integration from the µTorrent preferences.

What does the Speed Guide's port checker say about your port? What is the tracker status for the torrent that's having trouble?

The tracker status message is : proxy connect error: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it. The Dht status is : not allowed. The speed guide is saying that the port does not appear to be open.

ok, i did that and i have no proxy set and none in IE. The seeds is at 0 and the peers...at the bottom of the utorrent screen it says that the dht: waiting to log in? would that have something to do with it? I did notice one thing and that is my ip address on the port checker is different than the one on my firewall summary on my router...!

o.O That's useful to know too :D

Is the external IP your router reports 10.x.x.x 172.16.x.x-172.31.x.x or 192.168.x.x ? If so that means you're through additional Proxy/NAT and as such won't be able to forward your ports. I don't know why the Proxy error shows up :/

To be a little more thorough do all the sites-- http://www.canyouseeme.org and http://www.utorrent.com/testport.php?port=YOURPORTNUMBER and https://www.grc.com/x/portprobe=YOURPORTNUMBER -- report the same external IP? It may also be you are redirected only for non-HTTP traffic :/
