Necrovir
I know this doesn't have to do directly with µTorrent, but I can't get any torrents to download. I go to a site, click on the torrent I want to DL, and then it says the page is loading, but the torrent file never gets downloaded, meaning I can't download what I want. If anyone has a solution to this, please help me.
schnurlos
Did you try one of the test torrents, perhaps open office? http://distribution.openoffice.org/p2p/index.htmlTried (in windows) rightclick, save as?
Necrovir
I've tried clicking the link. I've tried Save As. Neither of those works for me. And the test torrent had the same problem.Everything was working fine until a few days ago, and now it just won't download torrents. I tried Save As on a picture, and it worked just fine. I've got a port forwarded on my router, and my µTorrent works fine if I open up an existing torrent file on my computer.
jewelisheaven
...Sounds like something was installed that wreaks havoc on your internet. Were you browser hijacked? That or your ISP started filtering application/x-bittorrent filetype. Check it with a site like demonoid.com which serves up both normal bittorrent and text links If this is the case you either have to learn to use magnet: or download the torrents through a tunnel or proxy (I think that'll work?) if your actual torrenting hasn't been affected. If it has, consider changing ISPs after first giving them a lashing for changing their ToS without at least mentioning it anywhere on the site. Necrovir
I went to demonoid and tried the whole text file thing. It worked, and I'm downloading something now. But not every site has that, so is there any way to do something like that with all the other torrent sites I go to? I don't know what a tunnel or a proxy is...Another thing is speeds. Ever since I had the internet, it wouldn't go any faster than about 30 kbps. But about two weeks ago, they started going really fast. On one download, the average download speed was like 766 kbps. But the one I just started is topping out at 30 again.
jewelisheaven
Check their FAQ or comment section for "Magnet links" or magnet:It's possible it was the beginning of the billing cycle? i.e. they reset any limits on your line? For example this downloads the openoffice torrent magnet:?xt=urn:btih:DQK3CZOKXMWXRBM5L4AZBKGEIN75IP52I know mininove.org has magnet: links on every /det page if /get doesn't work
