Ghost21
May I suggest a Start/Pause/Stop All menu? This is because it's kinda difficult to select downloading torrents at the top, and uploading ones at the bottom [when sorted by "Status" column] to stop them before exiting µTorrent. If I exit without stopping the running torrents, µTorrent will perform a recheck on every torrent on restart which is slow and taxes the HDD.Would be much more easier to have Start/Pause/Stop All. If not, maybe when exiting, µTorrent will stop all torrents automatically and then exit.
Firon
You've got some kind of problem on your system if it re-checks every single torrent.
Ghost21
No, I mean it rechecks running torrents [seeding or downloading] at restart when the torrents are not stopped before exiting the client. Stopped and finished torrents are not rechecked.
Firon
Like I said, you've got a problem on your system if that happens, since it shouldn't re-check it in that case. I've restarted the client and my PC various times with torrents running and not once has it re-checked them.

Switeck
Are you running Win 9x/ME?Or using FAT32 on Win XP?FAT32 is simply less reliable at handling abrupt disconnections for file access.
durerca
Regardless whether or not Ghost21 is having a problem, I would like to second his request for that feature on the menu.
Firon
Ctrl A, StopCtrl A, StartInstead of one button, it takes two.
tumu
I believe some application "touches" your downloads which causes uT to think the files have been changed. Uninstall this "touching" application.
Ghost21
I haven't yet tried exiting µTorrent without stopping cause I'm on a 8.5GB d/l and rechecking it isn't fun on a slow HDD (if it doesn't work).Just wanted to be sure whether I can abruptly exit µTorrent without gracefully stopping downloads & uploads? foxyshadis
Yes, it stays active in the background (finishing sends(?), closing files, updating trackers) for a short time after the window closes.
