DankMan
Version:1.7.7max active torrents: 10max active downloads: 6I have about 15 torrents queued to download and about 100 torrents queued to seeding, all with plenty of peers, but for some reason, no more than 1 or 2 torrents from the queues will ever actually start downloading or uploading. When I force start them, the files queued to download will usually start, and the files seeding will sometimes start, though not always. This wasn't allways a problem, but I can't remember exactly when it started. jewelisheaven
Queue goes by # order when downloading, * order when seeds have yet to meet the queue rules, and then " " blank random round robin order. I have a feeling you're overloading your connection. What's your upload limit?
DankMan
* order when seeds have yet to meet the queue rules, and then " " blank random round robin order. I have a feeling you're overloading your connection. What's your upload limit? What do you mean, "* order when seeds have yet to meet the queue rules"? how is it decided what order torrents will upload in?and what are the que rules? My connection is about 25KB Up, but I have it set to unlimited. I have this problem even when I lower max active torrents to 8.
Ultima
queue.use_seed_peer_ratio makes µTorrent select the torrent with the lowest seed:peer ratio at a higher priority.
jewelisheaven
The option Ultima is talking about can be found @ Ctrl-P -> Advanced . The only features currently are to prioritize torrents with no seeds and use tracker reports of seeds/peers to determine this round robin nature. With .25Mbit upload that's at MAXIMUM 32 KiBps... even with 1 upload slot you should ONLY have 8 torrents running at once. What are your Ctrl-P -> Queueing settings ? Press F7 to show the category pane, click ALL, and sort by Status to see this easier: You will likely see 6 or more torrents in the downloading status. If you have changed the Ctrl-P -> Advanced options "queue.dont_count_slow_dl/ul" from TRUE to FALSE it means ONLY that many torrents will be started no matter the speeds. On the other hand, as TRUE (default) the queue will keep 6 torrents downloading > 1 KiBps where possible until it runs out of downloads. After that the remaining queue slots you set will activate seeds (minimum 4) due to your settings. As I said before you have too large a queue especially if you plan to download at any rate of speed. You only download as fast as you upload, if you're lucky.
DankMan
Thanks! this helped a lot!I know that having 10 max active torrents was too much, but since I couldn;t really get any running at all, I set it up higher to see if that would work.
