oUrTorrent
I think it would be best if you didn't discuss the downloading of any possible illegal files. I saw you edited the part where you said you were downloading a game to. now if we're talking legal files, you should have no worries from anyone including your ISP. but you're always taking a chance when downloading illegal files, no matter how great or little that chance of getting caught may be. jewelisheaven
... It's like any other distribution mechanism except better You want to watch that awesome tv show on ABC that premiered last night... go to their site... OR download a copy via bittorrent at better resolution and contribute to others getting it Bittorrent is regularly used to offload bandwidth costs from content providers. Stateside monopolies don't want to save costs. The CBC recently distributed a show via bittorrent http://blog.mininova.org/articles/2008/03/27/cbc-joins-mininova-distributing-tv-show-for-free/ As far backwards as the duopoly of Bell and Rogers are, their media is more forward thinking http://www.thestar.com/sciencetech/article/407730
ohfolly
I have great luck with Utorrent but not with configuring it. How do I direct downloads to a particular folder? How can I be sure that uploads come only from that folder?
jewelisheaven
http://utorrent.com/setup_guide.phpCtrl-P -> Downloads -> Put new downloads inThere is no "uploads" folder. Bittorrent doesn't "share"... you are sharing when the torrent is running, and ONLY what you're running. Shared Folders are the old guard of filesharing
