costello
I think it might be a good idea to add an option to "expire" torrents after a certain amount of time - give an option to remove, stop or delete a torrent after a set period of time. This might be an idea for anyone keen on seeding only the newest torrents and getting rid of the old because certain sites will limit the amount you can have going. Searched for something like this but nothing relevant came upThoughts?
jewelisheaven
Well auto-remove has been rejected. As far as the timeframe though, what are you looking at, calendar time, or time elapsed (shown on General tab)?
costello
Time since completion. Take the value of completed on and subtract it from the current date until it reaches the value you want. When it has, do whatever with it
zinnium
thats not a bad of an idea.... could just fit into the global options and leave blank for advance users to change.
costello
Actually, I was thinking of options for global, label and single torrents. Typically you'd want full control over the expiration of everything.Mostly though, I'd love to see label expiration come in to place
zinnium
No, agree with you, but I like globals. I'm more onto just walking a way and forgetting it exist.
GTHK
You can already limit seeding to a certain amount of time, which can be useful, but the values selectable are predetermined. It sounds like this would extend that feature, that's what you mean right?
costello
Yeah, pretty much an extension of that. I'd rather have it seperate altogether though. Ultimately its down to the developer though, how he wants to incorporate it. The general idea is there, its just there's infinite ways of getting it done
jewelisheaven
But auto-remove will likely NOT be implemented. I have a feeling you'll get something like this in the expanded scheduler options upcoming in 1.
Firon
Scheduler options don't have anything to do with this.Auto-remove won't be implemented, though.
jewelisheaven
You're "scheduling" torrents for deletion. How is that not a scheduler-based option?
Firon
'cause that's not what the scheduler does.
