port is not open

the little yellow flag is at the bottom of my utorrent screen. it says that it may be my network configuration and i checked it and its fine. and i know its not norton or anything because it is allowing it. but whenever i go and click check port it keeps saying its not open. and then i randomize it and run it again. and again it says the port is not open. what do i do. write back at zangoochi32@aol.com please. thank you.

Could you try removing Norton? Just as a test, seriously, it's crap. Do you have a router or routing modem? What are the first two fields of your computers IP address?

FIRST: If you don't use UPnP or NAT-PMP on your router... STOP randomizing ports. Second check http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm for ALL devices between you and your ISP.

The IP Address you can find from start->run->cmd /k ipconfig
