Urahara24
Sorry for making a new thread but I really need help, nothing I download is seeding, utorrent keeps disconnecting seeds/peers everytime they connect except for 1 peer, I tried everything in Ultima's thread but nothing worked, and I went to this website http://loki04.mpi-sws.mpg.de/bb/bt.php but it said I'm not being throttled.# Color of the network status light in µTorrent's status bar (at the bottom of the µTorrent main window) - Green# What the port checker from the Speed Guide writes - It says the port is open# What the Speed Guide shows your settings to be (press Ctrl+G in µTorrent) - Upload Limit: 92Connections(Per Torrent): 120Connections(globally): 600Upload Slots: 6Max Active Torrents: 5Max Active Downloads: 6# What you have net.max_halfopen set to (Preferences > Advanced in µTorrent) - 8# Operating system installed (Windows XP, 2000, ME, 98, 95, NT? Firon
You can't really seed on the OOo torrent very well. It's highly overseeded. It's only a good download test.
Urahara24
Oh, I just thought that was a test for seeding too. Nothing else seeds though. Would it help that most of the torrents I'm trying to seed have hundreds of seeders and only leechers in the double digits?
Firon
Yes, that's exactly the problem.
Urahara24
Really? Totally did not know there had to be as many leechers as there are seeders until now.Okay, thanks. Just tested a torrent with only 1 seeder and 64 leechers, uploading at full speed
Firon
Well, when there's a ton of seeders and very few leechers, the odds of them connecting to you are much lower. And even if they do connect, they may never need to request anything from you.
Urahara24
Is there a way to increase the chance of them connecting to me?
jewelisheaven
Make your port forwarded. Other than that, it's possible to reconnect to them manually by copying the peerlist and copy-pasting it in one peer at a time... that attempts to add a connection to said peer in the queue for peer-connections.Other than that, you rely on the default announce/connect procedures from both ends. Urahara24
I can only upload fast when my download speed is real low or if I'm seeding to more than 1 peer but if I'm downloading fast(250kB+) my upload speed is almost non existent and it caps at 30-50kB/s when seeding to 1 peer. I don't know my exact upload speed since it hops around alot, I've even gotten 300kB/s once eventhough my max is supposed to be close to 200. Upload on speed test results vary alot but they always stay in the 1313-1487kb/s area. I'm using the settings for 1.5mbps in Switeck's thread.Ports are forwardedTcpip patched8 half open connections
Switeck
Is your connection rated as 3 megabits/second down and 1.5 megabits/second up?
Urahara24
No, 20mbps down and 1.5mbps up
Switeck
If your download max is 20 megabits/second, then your download speed SHOULD be over 2 MegaBYTES/second...200 KiloBYTES/second is less than 1/10th that fast.Maybe you only have those speeds to local ips also on the same ISP or in the same country as you.You wouldn't happen to be on an island nation? If so, they'd probably have very limited overseas internet lines.
Urahara24
I can download at 1.5MB/s but only from really fast seeds, and the upload speed stays at 0 while I'm downloading, is that normal? I'm on an island btw.
Switeck
Are the "really fast seeds" typically located in Jamaica? If there's seeds uploading at 1.5 MegaBYTES/second on a torrent, I don't doubt that you won't need to upload much if anything to others. There's lots of people with about 1/100th that upload speed TOTAL.Once again, if you NEVER upload at 92 KiloBYTES/second...then you probably need much lower settings in uTorrent. You may also need more 'stealthy' setting in uTorrent if your ISP is monitoring BitTorrent traffic and disrupting when detected:http://www.azureuswiki.com/index.php/Avoid_traffic_shaping
Urahara24
The only time I can upload at 92 KiloBYTES and more is when I'm only seeding to more than 1 peer. I dunno where they;re located but I downloaded a torrent yesterday with 28 seeders and I was the only leecher and was downloading at a sustained 1.5 MegaBYTES/second. Right now my encryption settings are on "Forced" and I'm not allowing any legacy connections. So basically, if I upload a torrent and only one person is downloading from me my speeds stay at 30-50kB/s and sometimes I don't connect to the peer at all.If I'm downloading, my upload speed is 0-10kB/s.Heres a speedtest result:
