Need more than 1 torrent downloading to get a good speed.

I need to have 2 torrents downloading to get anything like the speed i should be getting.....example :

im downloading a torrent at 44kbps, but when i start another torrent downloading the first torrents speed goes up from 44kbps to 90-100kbps.

any ideas why this is happening ??

i thought if u only had 1 torrent downloading it would be faster, it seems to be the opposite for me....strange

It's the same idea as when people can only upload @ say 45 when seeding, but when downloading + seeding they can get up to 80.

If you've gone through http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=15992 and seen if enabling encryption, disabling other features, and limit connections more if it limits or lessens the impact of the network management shaping or filtering. Additionally you may find 1.8 performs better in all scenarios, but it's up to you whether you want to switch, or test it out via http://utorrent.com/faq.php#How_can_I_share_my_torrents_between_user_profiles.3F
