Port Forward Issue Wireless

Hello,

I am just frustrated as hell over this port forwarding. I'm kinda a noob to this so bare with some of my observations as they might not be relevant. I used to use uTorrent on my desktop and was able to portforward everything with no problem. Recently I switched to a laptop and am currently using wireless connection. I have forwarded my ports on my Actiontec MI-424-WR router but when i run the speed test, it says my port is closed. I have the port forwarding set to TCP>source=any>destination=single=2xxxx7 (my port). im really confused as to what i am doing wrong. I even set up a static IP (althought i did not need to do this previously on my desktop) but it does not resolve the problem.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Are you sure your modem doesn't have mini-firewall components? http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm may also point out something you missed on the actiontec

Additionally what security software/suite/bundle do you run. It's possible you've got a firewall in there. Have you checked with multiple testers? Some don't report as open unless they're in use. http://canyouseeme.org and https://www.grc.com/x/portprobe=YOURPORTNUMBER work too.

yea, i have tried these websites, and it still says its closed. I also followed the guide on teh website you linked. I'm wondering if its due to my router or my verizon FIOS.
