speed tests w/1.8

ok, i was using 1.7.7 & it seemed to be working fairly well until recently. i started getting the yellow warning at the bottom. i did all the speed tests & settings, however none of this helped.

out of frustration i removed utorrent completely & just now downloaded the 1.8 beta. i've got a couple downloads & they seem to be moving along fine i suppose. now, my question is; should i still go into the speed guide & run the test, etc., or should i just leave it alone? i got around 20kbps for one of my downloads which is quicker than i had ever gotten previously for this time of day. anyone's advice is greatly appreciated.

The default settings for 1.7 and 1.8 are the same.. unlimited upload, which you shouldn't be using. You should always setup your uT for your connection... speedtests won't change based upon client you run it from. The links are external. The speeds MAY change dpeending upon time of day though. Say if your ISP likes to shape/cripple traffic during the day.

I don't think so. How many devices do you have between the wall and your computers? If it's just the modem check it out @ http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm to see if you missed a step in the forward procedure.

Another thing to note, not having a green check ALWAYS is ok, as long as your yellow icon doesn't turn red.

You can also take a look through http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=15992 to see if you haven't tried anything there.
