brasskey
I used BitTorrent forever with no problems. I recently downloaded uTorrent and can't seem to keep it from being firewalled. uTorrent is working but the download speeds are slow. Also, when I go to various torrent sites (like Trader's Den) my user profile says I'm firewalled. I followed the directions at portforwarding.com for my router. I also made sure that my Windows XP firewall does not block uTorrent. But, none of this works. Any suggestions?
hermanm
As a test, put your computer on the DMZ to see if the ports open up. If it does, your router is blocking the connections. Take care to select the correct computer name, especially if you have multiple MAC addresses associated with your computer name (e.g. one is wired MAC and one is wireless MAC). If you know the router is not firewalled correctly, you can add a new user-defined application called uTorrent which allows traffic for the port(s) you specify. For 2Wire routers, you have to explicitly add one definition for TCP and one definition UDP. Your first screenshot you added an entry for TCP. Remove that and add it again, but make TCP 600 seconds. Then add another one for UDP.
brasskey
Alright, I enabled DMZ and when I go to Trader's Den my user profile still says I'm firewalled and my speeds are still slow. I then removed my uTorrent definitions and made two new ones for the TCP adn UDP. I saved the changes and restarted my computer. I then opened uTorrent back up and the speed didn't seem any better. I went to Trader's Den and my user profile still says I'm blocked.
hermanm
If you enabled DMZ and you pointed to your computer correctly, then the port is somewhere else. Possibly Windows Firewall, a different program, etc. Okay, I think its time for HijackThis log and ProcExp log.
