hermanm Posted May 14, 2008 Report Share Posted May 14, 2008 Sometimes when I join a popular private torrent, I want to mostly peer with those that do not have 100%. This way, the contribution is bidirectional as opposed to one way. I would still want maybe one peer at 100% for the sake of availability, but the rest I would not want to connect with. The goal would not be throughput but connecting with peers where it would be mutually beneficial and boost my upload ratio at the same time. Blocking seeds even as an option doesn't benefit your ratio. . .it may slow down your download but that also slows down the rate at which you can upload.... incomplete pieces. My reasoning is that I will never upload to a peer with 100% while the chances are much better I will share with my peer since my peer has less than 100%.
