UTorrent disconnects my network and internet

I opened a port for utorrent and when I run utorrent my network disconnects. I closed the port and there was no problem. I have tried this with several ports already but to no avail. By the way I'm using Vista on a C2D processor and a linksys wired router BEFSR41 v4.2. What do you think is the problem?
